Noir South Retreat

Cute little modern container home 2 blocks from the lake where there's a trail into town (30 minute walk), right past "that Wanaka tree." We were very happy with our stay here. Our only complaint was the living room is a little awkward for more than 2 adults to watch TV together, but we made it work.

Situated in a quiet street, this home is beautifully set up with everything you will need. All high spec appliances are thoughtfully laid out in well designed spaces. Loved the north facing deck with all day sun. Comfortable bedrooms. Strongly recommend.

This is a lovely place. It is beautifully furnished and the heating works very well. A bonus is that there were supplies of useful items like washing powder, condiments and great shampoo and conditioner. The position is great - an easy walk into town.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful 2-bedroom unit. It was spacious, tastefully presented, and had everything we needed — the kitchen was especially well equipped. We loved how warm and cozy it felt, especially with the fireplace, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The location was perfect — a short walk to both the town and the lake, yet it still felt very private and peaceful. The unit was lovely and sunny, set in a gorgeous spot. We would absolutely recommend this accommodation and would love to stay again!

Modern, well-quipped home within a 2.5K stunning lakeside walk to the centre of Wanaka. Bathrooms are clean and new; comfortable bed; lovely sunny deck. Yvette, from Wanaka Holiday Homes, was friendly and welcoming when we requested early access to the property. Highly recommended. (Guests should just be aware of a mirror property close by, although mostly screened by native plantings.)

We would definitely book again. We came for a function at Rippon Hall winery and it was close to accommodation. The house was well equipped, modern, very clean, the beds were comfortable and the information book was very helpful. The area was very quiet and you could walk to the lake in about 20 mins. We loved Wanaka, hoping to come back in the future

We had a wonderful time here! very peaceful neighborhood with a cool park within walking distance by the water. the space was everything we needed. the kitchen had all of the cookware you could need and the beds were comfortable. having 2 bathrooms was also super convenient. also, even though it is in a neighborhood with lights, you can see the stars so clearly!

absolutely beautiful home with modern amenities that made a feel so at ease and comfortable.
The house was beautifully presented and was spotlessly clean inside and out.
Plenty of parking space between the 2 houses and private enough as well.
So close to Wanaka central and easily walkable down to the lake and then to town.

What a fantastic retreat this is in a stunning location. Heather was an absolute perfect host making sure we had all the information that we needed from start to finish. Everything was very well appointed and extremely clean and welcoming. The fire place was very welcome on cold nights with a glass of central Otago wine 🍷. Perfect for our family of 4. Two separate ensuite bedrooms, with kitchen/dining/lounge in between. Location very quiet, and about 8 min walk to Lake, and about 15 from there into downtown Wanaka along the Lake. Unit is well supplied, clean, modern. Beautiful, well-appointed standalone home in a quiet, lovely residential neighbourhood. Very clean, fully-outfitted, on- and off-street parking. Would be especially nice during spring/summer/autumn, when guests can use the spacious garden deck and BBQ to relax. Bedrooms and baths are spacious and immaculate. House is warm, controls are easy-to-use, and furnishings are clean, modern and well cared-for. Our new "homebase" in Wanaka for the many reasons to visit this wonderful town. Be sure to bring your own Nespresso-style coffee pods and milk... not provided.

This is such a lovely spot! The home is well-appointed and easy to relax into and the view to the nearing foothill was so lovely! I also found the location to be perfect - slightly removed from town centre, but could easily walk. Also a good location for getting to Mt Aspiring National Park. I will definitely stay here again!

A spacious light house with well chosen modern decor perfect for a restorative stay.
This property is well located for exploring the walks along the lake and the town of Wanaka is easily accessible.

Everything about the space felt like home. We immediately fell into a comfortable rhythm. I just love how everything’s within a 5-10 drive away, and if you want to, you can run or walk to the town centre. I would definitely come back again. Hosts were incredibly pro-active as well!

This is one of the best AirBnB's that we have stayed at! All items that we could ever need were provided by the host, and the place was clean, beautifully decorated and luxurious. The bathroom floors had in-built heaters that were perfect for the slightly chilly nights in November. The place also included a washer and dryer, which was very helpful.

Seriously one of the best places we’ve ever stayed on a trip. The location was PERFECT. This was true luxury. Everything was meticulously clean and modern, but so cozy and comfortable. Heather was incredibly quick to respond and work with us on our schedule…I am so thankful. We had everything we needed in the unit plus more. Lots of modern and homey touches. Great info and communication and lots of local tips and places to eat, see. My only regret is that we didn’t get to stay longer. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to rent here again as soon as I can talk the hubs into taking me back.
